This year, you’ll find Pride interwoven in designs across Microsoft, from Xbox to Surface, and today we’re excited to announce new Teams backgrounds. While last year’s Pride designs incorporated 18 different flags, we wanted to be even more inclusive this year and our 2022 designs represent 35 different Pride flags.

As lead designer Shyla Lindsey expressed, people often rely on Teams backgrounds to show their allyship and express their identity, which can help empower a sense of self.  

With movement, materiality and natural light, the Teams backgrounds are deep and dimensional, incorporating natural elements that symbolize the growth, beauty, and vibrancy of LGBTQIA+ communities.
